FOSS Modules
What is FOSS? The Full Option Science System (FOSS) is a
carefully planned and coordinated science curriculum. Each FOSS
module contains a teacher's guide with activity folios. There is also
a teacher preparation video included in each module that explains
each experiment in depth. The FOSS modules are divided by grade level
and by scientific area and are designed to promote certain thought
processes.
FOSS Goals
Scientific Literacy--to provide all students with science
experiences that 1) are appropriate to their cognitive stages of
development and 2) serve as a foundation for more advanced ideas that
prepare them for life in an increasingly complex scientific and
technological world.
Instructional Efficiency--to provide all teachers with a
complete, flexible, easy-to-use science program that reflects current
research on learning and the latest instructional methodologies.
