ACA Program and Lunar Observing: from 7:00 - 10:00 PM

On the lawn: Members of the Astronomy Club of Augusta will have telescopes available for viewing.

The Bechtel Telescope in the RPSEC Observatory: 7:30 - 10:00 PM

Planetarium Shows: 7 PM - Dark Shadows. 8 PM - To the Moon and Beyond

Dark Shadows Title

In the Dark Shadows show, you will learn how "dark shadows" are related to the phases of the Moon and to solar and lunar eclipses. The program includes hands-on activities, stunning images, Digistar segments, and an inspiring video of a total solar eclipse. You will also learn about an event of a lifetime!!! The moon will eclipse the sun for a total solar eclipse on August 21, 2017. South Carolina is a prime target for this special astronomical phenomenon.

Moon and Beyond Title

Experience the exciting adventures of Apollo astronauts on the Moon. Learn what prompted the Race to the Moon and what our lunar explorers discovered during their journeys. Find out how the new Orion spacecraft may take people back to the Moon, to Mars and beyond!
