Waxing Gibbous Moon

You're invited to participate in the International Observe the Moon Night (InOMN) on October 8, 2011. On this night, people all over the world will be observing the Moon, and we will be hosting an event at USC Aiken in conjunction with the Astronomy Club of Augusta (ACA).

The Bechtel Telescope in the RPSEC Observatory will be open for viewing the Moon from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Join us for a close-up look at the craters, mountains and “seas” on the Moon!

The DuPont Planetarium will show "To the Moon and Beyond" at 7:00 and 8:00 p.m.

To the Moon and Beyond: 7 and 8 p.m.
Experience the exciting adventures of Apollo astronauts on the Moon with young Carol and her dad. Learn what prompted the Race to the Moon, and become better acquainted with the attributes of Earth’s natural satellite. Then, discover how humans may go back to the Moon, to Mars and beyond!

Join us for a fun evening of learning about our nearest neighbor in space!
