EDTE 701 Special Topics in Teaching Science

Times: Wednesdays 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Course Description: This course has been specifically designed for elementary and middle school teachers in the IMA/Natural Science degree program (to satisfy the new requirement for a course dealing with “Curriculum and Instruction”), but will be open to any interested elementary or middle school teacher. Special emphasis will be placed on understanding the new National Science Education Standards and the forthcoming SC Science Framework. Laboratory activities will be chosen to complement the lecture topics. Tuition will be based on the number of registrants, but will be less than $300. You must preregister for this course by sending a non-refundable $50 check made payable to the USC Center for Science Education (will be used as part of tuition).
