Beginning Saturday, September 7, the DuPont
Planetarium began showing a new program - "Through the Eyes of the Hubble
Space Telescope." This planetarium show uses slides, video, and the Digistar
II projector to tell the story of the Hubble Space Telescope. Visitors will
learn about the telescope repair mission by shuttle astronauts, relive the stunning
impact of Comet Schoemaker-Levy 9 with Jupiter, visit the birthplaces of stars
and planets, view the edge of a super massive black hole, witness a remarkable
supernova explosion, glimpse clusters of galaxies at the very limits of the
observable universe, and experience many other wonders.
