The 12th Annual Conference of the SC Marine Educators Association and the Environmental Education Association of South Carolina March 30-April 2, 2000 The conference titled, "Working Together...Naturally" will be held at the Penn Center on St. Helena Island, near Beaufort, SC. Come join marine and environmental educators from throughout South Carolina as they come together to collaborate and promote awareness and appreciation of the State's bountiful environmental resources. Highlights include inspiring educational concurrent sessions, hands-on workshops, keynote addresses on the interconnectedness of resources and the identification of important strategic alliances, exhibits, round table forums, extraordinary Lowcountry dinners (including a cookout/oyster roast), the annual Auction and Marine Meringue, and fantastic field trips! |

Dr. Alba Frascarelli is our visiting Archaeologist from Aiken's Sister City, Orvieto, Italy. She is spending her time at the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center working with area school children who are doing simulated Archaeological digs. The children and teachers all enjoy learning about our past and how we learn from it. |

Keep your eyes open for the 2000-2001 Student Programs Booklet and registration form. We will be mailing a copy to each school's Principal, Science Department Chairperson and Math Department Chairperson around April 15th.
