Science Olympics Winners

Congratulations to the 1996 Science Olympics Gold Medal Winners, Harlem High School!

The team, coached by Pam Kitchens, competed against eight other area high school teams to claim the championship title for the second year in a row. Second place honors went to Lakeside High School, while Davidson Fine Arts School claimed third place.

Top individual scorers on the Science Quiz were also honored. Those winners were: First Place - Barron Thompson, Lakeside High School; Second Place - Cam Carlsen, Harlem High School; and Third Place (tie) - Jonathan Brads, Airport High School and Jason Pack, Lakeside High School.

The Science Olympiad is an annual event sponsored by the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center where student teams compete for medals in the following events: Science Quiz, Titration Race, Vertebrate Anatomy, Paper Tower, Ping Pong Ball Catapult, Earth Science Practical, SC Wildlife,
