The Ruth Patrick Science Education Center is pleased to announce the addition of two new staff members: Janet Watkins and Tammy Mims.

Janet Watkins is the new Science Specialist for the CSRA HUB. Ms. Watkins earned a BachelorÕs Degree in Science from East Carolina University and a MasterÕs Degree in Education from USC. She taught science at Allendale-Fairfax High School for 17 years, where she served as Science Department Chairperson for 10 years. Her office will be located at Barnwell Elementary School. Ms. Watkins replaces Ms. Carlton Mullinax who retired on June 30, 1994. Ms. Mullinax has returned to her home in Spartanburg, SC and is currently teaching classes at Winthrop College.

Tammy Mims joined the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center as the CenterÕs Program Specialist. Ms. Mims graduated from USC Aiken in May 1994 with a BachelorÕs degree in Biology. As an undergraduate, she worked part-time for the Center and taught many of the student programs. Ms. MimsÕ plans for the future include pursuing a MasterÕs Degree in Education. The addition of Ms. Mims to the staff has enabled the Center to expand its programs to five days a week and to add three new programs for students.
