"THE LIVING PERIODIC TABLE"
On Friday, November 11, 1994 at 6:30 PM the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center and the Savannah River Section of the American Chemical Society will unveil The Living Periodic Table in the lobby of the Ruth Patrick Science Education Center. The Living Periodic Table will be a “hands-on” education tool where each element will have a cabinet that will house information on the element as well as examples of everyday objects containing the element. The Savannah River Section of the American Chemical Society has raised over $13,000 to make the periodic table come to life. Some of the funds were raised by individuals or institutions who "sponsored" an element by donating $100 or more. These sponsors will be recognized on a plaque mounted near the display. There are still elements available and the donations are tax deductible. Many thanks to the members of the this committee: Dr. Dick Spaunburgh, Dr. Monty Fetterolf, Dr. Henry Gurr, Ms. Gwen Johnson, and Dr. Gary Senn.
