Our theme this year is "Impacts and Influence between Early Spanish Explorers and Native Americans of South Carolina."
Show your support for protecting and preserving South Carolina's archaeological sites and its rich and varied cultural heritage by attending the many programs offered during SCAW. The annual Kick-Off this year will be held on Monday, September 26, 1994 at the SC State Museum in Columbia. The opening ceremonies will begin at 1:00 PM in the atrium of the museum. Archaeological exhibits from around the state will be displayed in the atrium of the SC State Museum from Monday, September 26 to Friday, September 30.
Over 2,000 people are expected to tour over 30 exhibits and view over 50 demonstrations of Indian and colonial skills. An auction will be held to raise financial support for the Society's Trust Fund followed by a BBQ dinner.
