Natural Resources Science, Mathematics, Engineering Education Program
The Natural Resources Science, Mathematics, Engineering Education Program
(NRSMEEP) has undergone significant changes. Please see the article,
Ruth Patrick Science
Education Center Undergoes Staff Changes for more details. NRSMEEP will
still be offering programs for area students. At this time, Anne Bohnet
will be the
only instructor and will be teaching at the Silver Bluff Audubon Center
near Jackson, SC. If you are interested in scheduling a field trip with
NRSMEEP, please
contact Anne Bohnet at 803-471-0291 or anneb@usca.edu.
The staff continues to seek additional funding to support NRSMEEP. There
is still a possibility that funding and agreements will be secured to allow
NRSMEEP to
continue offering programs on the Savannah River Site. There is a chance
that something will be known by October. If this possibility comes to reality,
that
good news will be disseminated.
The Natural Resources Science, Mathematics, Engineering Education Program
(NRSMEEP) will still be offering programs for area students. The program
has, however, experienced more budget cuts. Jody Childs, the director of
the program, has taken a teaching position in the upstate and the administrative
assistant's position has been eliminated. Anne Bohnet will be the only instructor
and will be teaching at the Silver Bluff Audubon Center near Jackson, SC.
If you are interested in scheduling a field trip with the NRSMEEP program,
please contact Anne Bohnet at 803-471-0291 or anneb@usca.edu.
