Lesson #4 (Standard 2-4.4)

Chem4Kids.com is a kid friendly website that explains the complex ideas of chemistry to children in colorful and easy to read lessons. The chemistry topics that can be explored through this site include: matter, atoms, elements, reactions, and biochemistry. Follow the lesson on matter and explore the ideas of mixing and seperating matter. Once the children read the webpage, there is a quick quiz that can be taken to test the knowledge gained through this lesson.

The American Chemical Society has provied a cute game that allows children to filter water to simulate seperating matter. Children can set the level of filteration then choose to add a bleaching agent to see how it will effect the quality of drinking water. This is a game that children can play alone or with a partner. Enjoy!
