Introduction:

This lesson will deal with the stages of development  according to Piaget.   Jean Piaget was born in Switzerland and lived between 1896 and 1980.  The theory of cognitive development was developed by Piaget during the mid 1920's.  The cognitive approach to learning and human development emphasizes mental factors as contrasted with the environmental factors of the traditional behaviorists.
