Animals and Their Behavioral Adaptations

Nancy Deacon

I am a third trade teacher at Augusta Prepartory Day School in Augusta, Georgia.  My class consists of eighteen eager students from Augusta the and surrounding area.

This thematic unit focuses on the characteristics of vertebrate animals.  The unit looks at examples of an animal's certain physical and behavioral adaptations that enable them to live in their surrounding environments.  Materials used in presenting this lesson are videos, literature, poetry and creative writing assignments, and investigations and observations using live animals.
