My name is Demetrist Howard. I am a teacher at Lucy C. Laney High School. I teach Applied Biology Chemistry and Conceptual Chemistry . My Applied Biology Chemistry students are in the tenth grade. My Conceptual Chemistry students are in the eleventh grade. My students seem to learn better by doing hands on activities and they enjoy labs better than me lecturing all of the time.
The title of my lesson is Thermal Pollution. The students will do an investigation titled "How does thermal pollution affect living things?" After completing this activity and discussion students will understand the affects of heat on living things. The students will be able to find out if heated water can kill or stop the growth of living things and determine if yeast cells can live in heated water for a short time.
