BARE BONES

How do we know what dinosaurs really looked like? Scientist study dinosaur fossils. They compare what they find with what they know about animals living today. This helps scientist figure out what the dinosaurs look like.

Some dinosaurs, like Plateosaurus, had a narrow pointed claws they used for ripping leaves from trees or for holding things.

Some teeth may have helped Plateosaurus cut through tough leaves and stems.

The Plateosaurus was 5 meters to 7 meters when it stood up on it hind legs.
