Johnny Spears

Hello!  I am a seventh grade science teacher at Schofield Middle School in Aiken, South Carolina.

I have been a teacher for four years.  Before I became a teacher, I received a Bachelor's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of South Carolina Aiken.  I wised up and earned a teaching certificate a few years later and new that I had found my calling.  What a great career.

I have been married for five years and have two children.  A third child is due in June, 2001.

When I am not at school, I enjoy fishing.  I really enjoy taking my four year old son fishing for catfish.  He calls them "whisker fish."  I also watch way too much television.

I am a 1987 graduate of Aiken High School.  I have lived in Aiken all of my life, with the exception of a few months, when I lived and taught in Daytona Beach, Florida.  I wised up and moved back to Aiken.

Aiken is a great place to raise a family.  It is still considered a small town,  even though I have watched it grow rapidly over the last few years. It was named as one of the top ten places in the United States to retire.  Maybe one day you can plan a vacation to relax in our sleepy southern town.
