I am a current graduate student at the University of South Carolina
in Aiken. I am obtaining an IMA degree (Interdisciplinary Master's
of the Art in Natural Science) through Columbia at the Ruth Patrick Science
Education Center. Their web address is below. I should complete
graduate school in the Fall of 2002 or the Spring of 2003.
I teach sixth grade Math and Science at Aiken Middle School. Their web address is below. I am a first year teacher that has a passion for children and teens. I have been called to teach and plan to continue for a long time. There is no better profession than teaching. What an impact I have on my 100 students! I see them daily and they are always looking up to me. My philosophy on teaching is that if we, as teachers, loose the desire and joy to teach, we do not need to be in the schools. Students need teachers that have energy, are excited about teaching, look forward to making a difference in their lives daily, and are content in their profession.
One of the most interesting things about me is that I am twenty-two
years old. I graduated from undergraduate school with my bachelor's
at twenty-one. I'll have my Master's at twenty-three. I am like the
energizer bunny...I keep going and going and going.
I have many extracurricular activities I participate in outside of school.
I am STEP Club sponsor at my school, I attend church regularly, I coach
my church's softball team, I am a member of Phi Delta Kappa, and much more.
On my hobby web link, I will describe some of my interests. Make
sure to check it out!
