Joey Lemonhead's
Parakeet Page

Hello, I'm Joey Lemonhead, and I was born on the 4th of July, 1995. My native land is Australia, but my parents migrated to America before I was born. I love America, and I love my adopted mother, Carole. She has a B.A. in Journalism, and an M.A. in Library Science, both from the University of South Carolina. She taught me to speak English. Now I know about 50 words and phrases, and I am only 17 months old! I can also repeat the calls of the Bob White, Crow, Blue Jay, and Chickadee. Some of my favorite phrases are:

Do you want a strawberry?
Do you like corn? Do you want a pear?
What are you doing? Where are you going?
Do you want some liver pudding and a buttermilk biscuit?
Be quiet! I'm talking!
I love you so good!
I'm gonna bite you now!
Where is Anjou? Anjou, where are you?

She wants to teach me to read, but I don't know about that! I love to play cards, roll ping pong balls and radishes on the floor, and play with my friend, Anjou. Even though she is just a big, green pear, she is lots of fun. My mom saves all my loose feathers and turns them into fishing flies. She enjoys fly fishing, origami, calligraphy, and growing orchids. She is a great gardener and last spring she entered a tomato growing contest and grew the first tomatoes in three counties!

I love flying around and looking in mirrors.
My girl friend is named Suzy. Isn't she beautiful?
