ELIZABETH (LIBBY) NEWMAN

I was born in Augusta, GA, on September 22, 1966. I grew up in Ridge Spring, SC, and graduated from Ridge Spring-Monetta High School in 1984. From there, I moved to Greenville, SC, where I got my B.A. in English from Furman University. While at Furman, I married my husband of ten years, Myles Newman. Since graduating in 1988, I have taught in four Barnwell county schools: Barnwell High School, Williston-Elko Middle School, Blackville-Hilda High School, and Jefferson Davis Academy.

My most gratifying--and challenging--accomplishment has been becoming a mother to three precious children: Leigh, age 7, and Katie, age 4, are two lively and entertaining little girls. Both were born in September, Mommy's birthday presents in 1989 and 1992. Last December 5th, we added a little boy to our circus (which is indeed three-ring now). He is our pride and joy. He has been walking for four whole days now (I am SO proud!!)

I am currently staying at home with my three children. They keep me busy with dance lessons, choir practice, Mission Friends/GA's, and LAUNDRY!! I am also working on my Master's Degree in Elementary Education at USC-Aiken. It is a pretty place, as you can see!
