Thomas Jefferson's Home Page
I was born on April 13, 1743. My parents were very wealthy. I decided to go to school and become a lawyer. I was a member of the House of Burgesses. I marrried Martha Wayles and we had six children. Only 2 survived. My wife died after 10 years of marriage.
I have done many things in life. Here are a few of my accomplishments:
- I built the Monticello
- I wrote the Declaration of Independence
- I was the third President of the United States
- I had Louis and Clark search the Mississippi River
- I started the University of Virginia
I died on July 4, 1826 at the age of 83.
