Lucille Burton's Personal Page

Here's Lucille....

Hi, my name is Lucille Burton. I was born in Johnston, South Carolina to parents Panzo and Alice Burton, who believed in "being cheaper by the dozen." Therefore I am number twelve in my family. Of course, I attend Strom Thurmond High during the time when school was fun. It is quite ironic that my former teachers are now my co-workers. I attend Voorhees College in Denmark, SC. I received a bachelors in Office Administration in 1977 and a bachelor in Business Education in 1986. I have been teaching for fourteen years. I have taught on college, high school, middle and elementary school level. My most rewarding teaching experience was teaching the physically challenged students and coaching special olympics. Presently, I am teaching in Business Education at Strom Thurmond Career Center. I hope to one day buy into H&R Block as a Manager or become an Educationally Consultant.

Family Life....

My relatives refers to us as the "Brady Bunch" and I am not sure if that is good or bad. I am divorced and I have 5 children, which I feel their sole mission in life is to drive me crazy. We do a lot of family things that are inexspensive, however, we have learned to enjoy each other. A lot of our entertainment revolves around church activities, which they seem to get a kick out of. Darrio, 23 is the oldest, he is working and sowing his oats. Darquita, 19, attends Piedmont Technical College majoring in nursing. Quincy, 17 the middle son has shown me that the middle child syndrome really exists is a senior. Alician and Aaron, 14 are freshmen at Strom Thurmond High. They are unique in that they are twins, born June 6th and June 7th a before and after midnight affair. Yes, I am a grandmother with two wonerful grandchildren Takelia 6 and DeCerrio 14 months.

My Interests....

My interests include gospel singing, gardening, fishing, cooking and traveling. Growing up in a large family, we all would try to sing. Singing is very inspirational to me and helps to relieve the tensions of daily trials and tribulations. I purchased home a few years ago and have a friend who is teaching me how to do the landscaping myself. I love flowers and growing fresh vegetables. Since I am not much on sports, I wanted to bond with the boys by teaching them how to fish, we love it. In the future before all my children are too grown, I hope we can travel around the US and later I would like at least one opportunity to travel abroad.
