One of my favorite hobbies is gardening. Although I am not a master gardener, I enjoy reading any information I can about plants. My husband and I spend a lot of our free time in the yard. Presently we are in the process of renovating a house and the grounds need extensive landscaping. Better Homes and Gardens is an excellent site for plant choices and ideas.

One of my professional interests includes research and lesson that have to deal with writing since that is what I teach mostly. A great writing program that I have found is Strategies for Writers by Zaner Bloser. It is a rubric-based program that my eighth grade writing classes are piloting. So far it is opening to rave reviews!
I also love looking for writing software and programs. One of my favorite software programs that my students are using is Writer's Companion. It is a super program that can be used for grades K-12.
I am also very interested in writing a book on classroom management as well as my experiences in the classroom. I have started writing and hope to be finished and ready to begin submitting manuscripts in about a year. We'll see!!
