Kid Pix is a program that can be used by kids (and adults) to:
Paint
Illustrate
Write
Create slideshows

When you open the program you will be prompted to enter your name. Type your name and select go. You will open to the paint zone. This is the screen where you create your pictures.

Choose the Background Button (the button with trees on it)
in the top left corner to see the Background Libraries. When you select this
button the Tool Trays at the bottom will change. The Background Library has
57 topics in it. Scroll through and select a topic.
Once you have selected a topic, scroll through the Backgrounds and make a selection.
Place your selection on the screen by clicking on it and dragging it on to the
screen. Now that you have your background, you are ready to add details (stickers,
animations, sounds, or your own drawings).

You can add stickers by selecting the Sticker Button (the button with the dog on it) under the Background Button. When you select this button the Tool Trays at the bottom will change to the Sticker Library. Scroll through and select a topic. Once you have selected a topic, scroll through the Sticker choices on the right and make a selection.
Place your selection on the screen by clicking and dragging
the sticker. When your sticker is on the screen you may use the corner handles
to adjust the size, position, or orientation of your sticker.

You can add animations by selecting the Animation Button (the button with the running dog on it) under the Sticker Button. When you select this button the Tool Trays at the bottom will change to the Animation Library. Scroll through and select a topic. Once you have selected a topic, scroll through the Animation choices on the right and make a selection. Click and drag your selection on to the screen.

You can move or resize your animation by using the corner handles. Animate your
picture by selecting the Play in A Loop Handle (the green arrow in the pink
box).
You can add sounds by selecting the Sound Button (the button with the horn on it) under the Animation Button. When you select this button the Tool Trays at the bottom will change to the Sound Library. Scroll through and select a sound style. Once you have selected a style, scroll through the animation choices on the right and make a selection. Click a sound to hear what it sounds like. The sound keeps playing until you click somewhere else on the screen. Drag the sound you want onto your picture to add it. You can hear the sound when you click the Play Button. The Play Button will turn into a Stop Sign. Click on the Stop Sign to stop the sound.
