| "Rain drops on roses and whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens; Brown paper packages tied up with string, these are a few of my favorite things." The words of "My Favorite Things," the song made famous by the musical, The Sound of Music, are very representative of life's blessings and pleasures that I hold dear. My daddy always told me, "He is richest whose pleasures are the cheapest." This simply meant that we need never to take the everyday, God-given, gifts of life for granted. I truly am a country-girl at heart. I treasure the freshness of the sunrise, the beauty of sunsets, the music of birds, the wonder of baby animals, the wonderful aroma of a freshly mown hay field, the unique smell of "rain in the air," the hope inherent in spring planting, and the thankfulness of a bountiful harvest. I appreciate the blessings of spring rain and respect the power of storms. Some of my Favorite Things:
